ORIGIN:

Barkhoff had the idea for a film that saw a man punished to hell trying to fight it in a court of law. He found it intriguing, but struggled to format a script for the full length. When Barkhoff mentioned the idea – and his difficulty shaping it – to Van Hauen, the duo concocted the idea for the film and Barkhoff wrote a script immediately.

Structure:

Coming off of the COVID pandemic, and with Van Hauen having moved nearly a state away, Barkhoff would film segments of the film every day before sending them to Jarrod for further opine. The two crafted the film this way, and, because Barkhoff was sending edited footage of the day, he was also able to streamline the editing process and release the film faster. Barkhoff finished the process with scoring the film, which took as long as filming due to the entire film being covered in scores. The film is nearly silent until the end, minus sounds of the character moving or interacting with inanimate objects, so a twenty-two song soundtrack was crafted for it.
