ORIGIN:
Near the completion of CD-R’s filming, Barkhoff had an idea for a film that was inspired by Being John Malkovich, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Yesterday, and other films. Barkhoff suggested the idea to Paulsen as Paulsen’s debut feature film, then the duo worked on the script. It filmed almost immediately after CD-R wrapped.
Structure:
The film makes heavy use of voiceovers and is structured in eight “tracksuit”, paying homage to how albums act.
